More Flights to Lapland in the Winter Season

Tourism season in Lapland is looking very promising after the covid-19 crisis. At the moment flights, accommodations and overall booking situations are satisfactory. It is expected to increase ahead of Christmas time. More flights and tourists are coming from European destinations. 

EasyJet has announced two weekly flights (Wednesday, Sunday) starting from 19th of December 2021. The winter route will offer flights till 9th of January 2022.

Turkish airlines starting direct flights to Rovaniemi from 16 December 2021. French airline Air France flights will also start in December directly from Paris. Air France flights will operate two times in a week from 4 December to till Next 5 March 2022.

German airline Eurowings also announced earlier to start direct flights to Lapland. The flights will start from 5 December and will operate till next March. Eurowings flights are on every Sunday.

A significant number of charter flights are expected in the upcoming tourism season. For example in the Enontekiö airport about 80 charter flights are coming from the UK.

About 150 charter TUI flights are scheduled to arrive from the UK during the Christmas time to Lapland.

According to the officials, the exact figures of flights might increase during the upcoming winter season. 

In a recent survey of Visit Lapland Instagram about 70 percent of the respondents said to spend their Christmas holiday this year in Finnish Lapland. Major part of the respondents were from abroad.
