Santa Claus meets again in Person

Santa Claus office is opening for the guests again from 26 June after three months. Santa Claus office is located in the arctic circle at Santa Claus village in Rovaniemi. Due to the corona virus situation Santa’s office closed the doors temporarily on 22 March.

Arktikum, Culture house Korundi and other tourist attractions in Rovaniemi are also announced their new opening hours following the Finnish Governments latest guidelines.

According to Santa Claus office, from 26 June it will be again possible to meet Santa Claus in person everyday from 11 am to 4 pm.

At the moment 7073 cases confirmed so far in Finland and the numbers of affected people are slowed down. Finnish Government is easing the travel restrictions gradually. Six countries traveling allowed from 15 June

On 12 June, the Finnish Government decided that border control will continue partially at internal borders and external border traffic will continue to be restricted until 14 July 2020. Finnish government has also announced to decide later during the upcoming days about further easing the restrictions step by step. 

Starting on 15 June, self-isolation is recommended for all those arriving in Finland who come from countries that are still subject to internal or external border control. Such countries include Sweden and Russia. Self-isolation is not required if the person arrives from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Denmark or Iceland. 

Quarantine instructions for people arriving in Finland

The content of the 14-day period of self-isolation, as instructed by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare, will not change as such. Under self-isolation, the person is allowed to move between their workplace and place of residence. Other essential travel is also possible. 

Travellers arriving in Finland will also be informed of Finland’s guidelines on hygiene and safe distances, the recommendation to avoid physical contact with risk groups for 14 days, and, if necessary, seeking medical attention and, in the future, instructions for installing the mobile app.
