Nightless nights has started in the northernmost part of Finland, in Nuorgam, Utsjoki today. Bright sunshine will stay up till the end of July for about two and half months during the summer period.

The length of the nightless nights and the midnight sun varies in different parts of Finnish Lapland. It means, the more north of our Lapland you are, the longer the nightless nights are. Summer time is truly different, green, calm and endless lights for the locals. It is also the time to enjoy the long days in the outdoor and the sunshine.

Every year this time the polar days and season of midnight sun starts here in the north. This year still there are lots of snow in our Lapland. Summer months in Lapland are bright, sunny and full of energy due to the 24 hours of light or the midnight sun.

Next sunset in Nuorgam, the northernmost part of Lapland is on 29 July.

In Finnish Lapland you also experience the polar nights when sun doesn’t rise at all in winter time.
