Places To Visit in Posio
Posio has a lot to offer visitors. Diverse nature and beautiful landscapes in Korouoma canyon offer spectacular sights for visitors. Pentik studio is definitely worth visiting. Ceramic art is handcrafted by expert craftsmen at the Pentik studio, drawing inspiration from the wild yet delicate beauty of Lapland’s nature. Since 2009, a gallery has been added to the studio, with shows changing every six months. Other attractions in the municipality include the Posio Municipality’s Ethnographic Museum and the old Akanlahti log dispatching plant, which is a short distance away. From the 1930s through the 1960s, the infrastructure was utilized to transport lumber from Lake Kitkajärvi to Lake Livojärvi.
Pentik Culture Centre
Pentik is the northern most ceramik factory in the world and all their products are made in Posio itself. The cultural Center allowes visitors to experience the history and the change of Pentik ceramics. Further there is a store where you can buy all kind of there products, which are not only ceramik.

Riisitunturi National Park
Riisitunturi nationalpark has beautiful nature to offer and gives a good opportunity for hikes, mountainbiking, snowshoeing or a BBQ i the wilderness. You can also enjoy food and drinks at the wilderness Cafe Tykky, where also the entrance of the nationalpark is.
Korouoma Canyon: Hiking & Ice Climbing
The Koruoma Canyon offers varios possibilities for outdoor activieties. It is a pefect loctation for a hike and seeing for example the Korouma water falls, which are compleatly frozen in the winter. Korouma is therefore known as the top Ice Climbing place in Finland.
Livojärvi
Säikänsalmi Beach at Lovojärvi lake is know as the Riviera of Lapland and a perfect place to spend a warm summer day. You can do various activities like fishing, swimming or just realx in the Café nearby. The water of the lake is perfectly clear and welcomes you to take a bath.
