Muonio

Muonio is located in Lapland’s northwestern region. Around 2,300 people live in the municipality. Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park, Finland’s most popular national park, surrounds Muonio and contains the most stunning high fells, lakes of varying sizes, and other natural treasures. Muonio falls directly under the Aurora Oval, a ring above the Earth’s Geomagnetic North Pole which means that during Aurora season, the northern lights can be seen at least every other night. It’s a dream come true for enthusiasts of the Northern Lights!
